Ingvild is one of our Medical Advisors at Chiesi, and she works within the respiratory therapeutic area in Norway. Her main responsibility is to provide solid medical and scientific knowledge both internally and to external stakeholders.
Ingvild has been a part of Chiesi since March 2020. Prior to her role at Chiesi she has since 2003 worked within research on antiviral immune responses at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology - the last 8 years with a focus on the possible relationship between childhood respiratory virus infections and the development of asthma. Ingvild has a MSc in Biotechnology and a PhD in Molecular Medicine.
What do you think is the most fun with your work?
The best part of my role as Medical Advisor is that I can contribute with my scientific background to a shared goal between Chiesi and health care professionals to improve the quality of life for people suffering from respiratory disease. I get to meet and collaborate with a lot of people with different backgrounds and experiences, both within the affiliate and in the healthcare section. Also, I love to be on the go and juggle different projects – never a boring moment.
Which qualities do you believe are the most important to be a part of Chiesi?
I believe that you need to have an outgoing personality with the ability to easily recognize the needs of different internal and external stakeholders. In Chiesi you get the opportunity to contribute to many different processes within the company and outside, hence collaboration skills are key. Also, given the strong research focus of the company, I believe it is important to be able to acknowledge the scientific backbone of our therapeutic profile.
How do you feel that you have developed during your time at Chiesi?
When working in Chiesi you get engaged in a range of projects both within the affiliate and at the global level, which leaves you with a lot of opportunities to learn and develop both in your role and cross-sectional. Chiesi Nordic is a growing affiliate and I really feel that I am a part of this exciting journey. Most importantly, the management at Chiesi recognizes individual employees and has a strong ambition to ensure that everyone makes the most of their potential. During my first 8 months, I have already had the opportunity to apply my previous competences and gain new knowledge and insights through internal and external interactions, and by attending relevant courses.
